Together with the 26 other legally independent cantonal organisations and the umbrella organisation Winterhilfe Schweiz, Winterhilfe Basel-Stadt is committed to helping adults and children who are threatened by poverty and live at or below the subsistence level.

We bridge emergency situations so that affected people have the basic necessities of life and do not lose their homes.

We temporarily relieve the precarious budget and provide some breathing space so that those affected can initiate concrete measures for longer-term improvements.

We strengthen equal opportunities for children and young people. The "Göttibatze" strengthens children from financially disadvantaged families and enables them to engage in meaningful leisure activities.
